OpenAI is making ChatGPT Go available at no cost for 12 months for eligible users in India who sign up during a limited‑time promotional period, starting November 4 2025. The promotion is available now for redemption from ChatGPT web, or the Google Play store, and will be available to redeem next week from the Apple app store.
What is Chatgpt Go?
- ChatGpt Go is a Budget subscription plan provided by OpenAI for the Indian users at Rs. 399/month.
- This plan includes features like access to latest models (GPT-5), higher messaging limits, image generation, file uploads and longer messaging memory.
How to claim?
If you’re new to ChatGPT or are an existing free plan user, you can redeem the promotion from ChatGPT Web or through the Google Play store If you’re using the Android app. The promotion will be available on the Apple store starting next week - if you need it sooner, follow the instructions below for ChatGPT web to redeem, and then login to ChatGPT on your iOS app.
Sign up from ChatGPT Web
Sign up for ChatGPT, if you’re new, or login to your account if you already have one.
Click on Try ChatGPT Go or go to Settings → Account → Try ChatGPT Go
During checkout, add a payment method - you will not be charged (see special note on UPI).
Upon completion of checkout, your promotional subscription will be active, and renew automatically on a monthly basis for 12 months.
You can review terms from Settings → Account anytime.
Sign up for Android (through the Google Play store)
Update or download the latest ChatGPT Android app.
Click Upgrade to Go for Free when the option is presented.
You can also tap the Try Go pill from the home screen, or access from Settings -> Upgrade to Go for free
Complete checkout and add a payment method. See note on UPI.

Sign up for iOS (through the Apple App Store)
You can redeem the promotion by following the steps above to for ChatGPT web. After redeeming on web, you can login to your ChatGPT account on the iOS app and start using ChatGPT Go.
Terms and Conditions:
You must be located in India to be eligible for the promotion, and must be new to ChatGPT, a current free user, or an existing ChatGPT Go subscriber with your account in good standing.
If you intend to subscribe on Android through the Google Play store, you must both be located in India and have your Play store account location set to India.
Note: If you’re an existing Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise/Edu user, review the section below for additional information.
You must provide a method of payment (Credit Card or UPI) to enroll into the promotion. You will not be charged a subscription fee till the 12-month period ends (see special note on UPI payments, below). You do not need to enter a promo code to redeem the promotion.
At the end of the 12-month period, we will automatically charge your payment method the current monthly ChatGPT Go fee unless you cancel in advance.
You can redeem the promotion one time per account during the promotion redemption period. If you cancel your subscription after redemption, it will no longer be available for you to redeem.
Special note on UPI payments
If you use UPI for redeeming the promotion, you may temporarily see a charge of INR (₹) 1 on your account every billing basis. The charge is required for purposes of using UPI as a payment method, and will be refunded.
Account in good standing
Your account is in good standing if your account has no missed or declined payments. If your account is not in good standing, you will not be able to redeem the promotion till your billing period ends, and you resubscribe after adding a valid payment method.
Redemption
The promotion is available only for a limited time, and may be ended by OpenAI at any time without prior notice. While the promotion is active, you can take advantage of it by following the steps below, based on your platform of choice, and whether you’re a new user or current active ChatGPT Go subscriber.
